Skin Tag Removal

Skin-Tag Removal

What is a skin tag
Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths that hang off the skin and look a bit like warts. They're very common, harmless, and can vary in colour and size - from a few millimetres up to 5cm (about 2 inches) wide. Skin tags are usually found on the neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts.

Most skin tags are completely harmless, however, they may be unsightly and affect your confidence. skin tags can also be a nuisance, for example if they regularly catch on you're clothing or you cut them while shaving. These lesions can be removed safely with a process called cauterisation.

The skin tag can be removed by Cauterisation, (a small electrical current ). The lesion is anaesthetised for patient comfort. The treatment itself takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. This method involves  using a tool that is able to burn the leision without wounding. The tag itself evaporates and the wound is not left open as it normally would be with a cutting tool. The wound itself will heal but it might be sore and red for a while afterward. A scab will form which will fall off over the following week or so.
Removal by Cauterisation
The area is cleaned throughout
The area is numbed by means of local anesthetic.
The needle with a small electrical current is put over the skin tag
The contact of the needle with the tag burns its cell.
The burnt cells are then removed from the area.

A dressing is applied around the treated area.
The results are instant, a small scab will appear which will naturally drop off over a week or so as the new skin repairs under the scab.
